March 25, 2023: We’ve been reading a book with mommy called Braiding Sweetgrass. It’s about Indigenous people. We’re learning a lot, but the best way to learn is going on field trips so we went to a Pow Wow today! We went to one when we were really little but we don’t remember much. This time we made sure to pay attention. We watched some of the ceremony with dancing and drums and singing. The regalia was beautiful. Two women even let us take pictures with them. We need to learn more, but this is a good start. Before we left, we bought earrings, an instrument, a dreamcatcher, and a hummingbird made of beads. There were a couple items made of braided Sweetgrass, which was so cool to see in-person. We are totally going back next year!
